What’s new for weddings in 2024

Wedding attractions evolve fast, and every year brings new ideas onto the reception floor. Some stick around for good and become staples we lean on for years, while others are more of a flash in the pan, popular for a single season before fading out. It can be tough to keep up with it all, so we put together a list of the trends we think are set to take over weddings in 2024 - and likely stay popular for a few years beyond that. Silent disco at your wedding

An attraction that’s already popular at other kinds of events is starting to make its way onto the wedding scene (it’s not widespread here just yet, but we think it could really take off). With silent disco, everyone on the dance floor can tune into whichever music suits them, and since none of it spills out into the rest of the room, it also gives other guests a welcome break from the noise. The effect is genuinely striking - watching a crowd dance together with no music audible from the outside is a memorable sight. Not many vendors currently offer this in the wedding space, but a handful have already started popping up. We think this trend has real potential to catch on this year, so if you’re after something that feels fresh and different, this could be the perfect fit.

Pearls

A decorative touch you can genuinely use almost anywhere! Vintage-inspired details are making a big comeback at weddings, and pearls bring instant class and elegance. They’re also an easy way to create a look that’s minimalist yet undeniably beautiful. Work them into your dress, your hairstyle, your shoes, or even your cake - the possibilities are endless. We expect to see them showing up in plenty of fresh styling choices at weddings this year.

Peach Fuzz

Bows

Like pearls, bows are set to show up in all kinds of forms at weddings this year. You’ll spot them on wedding dresses, woven into hairstyles, and worked into decor for both the church and the reception hall. They tie the whole look together beautifully, adding elegance and polish. You can weave bows into your overall wedding theme too - for example, by repeating a specific bow shape and color across your decor, stationery, and outfits.

Short-form video

Thanks to social media, we’re all getting more and more used to shorter videos. Long, feature-length wedding films are losing ground, and more couples are opting for brief, just-a-few-minutes wedding videos - or even Reels that sum up the biggest moments in under a minute. Sharing wedding memories as posts or stories on social media keeps growing in popularity, too, and it makes sense: loved ones get instant access and can watch the highlights on the very same day.
